Hobart is the One of the most beautiful and popular destinations in Tasmania, Hobart has something for everyone. Located in the South East on the Derwent River, close to Mt Wellington and Mt Nelson, you will find every type of ocean vessel in the harbour near Sullivans Cove, with excellent shopping, dining and activities all within walking distance in the city. Visit the new Antarctic Adventure Centre, the Botanical Gardens or the Old Hobart Gaol. Close to the city, Bonorong Park Wildlife Centre is a must for the family. With plenty of towns and attractions all within a days drive, Tasmania's largest city is a fantastic base for your driving holiday. Rent a car from Discovery for this opportunity.

Lying on the northern coast, Stanley is the largest town west of Wynyard. 'The Nut' reminded the explorers Bass and Flinders of a gigantic Christmas cake because of its shape rising 150 metres above the ground. A walk to the windy top of 'the Nut' is an ideal workout, or you can take the chairlift for a more relaxed trip with an amazing view of the Bass Strait. The Huon Valley. This, the most southerly region of Tasmania, is famous for salmon farms and some of the best Vineyards in Tasmania. Bruny Island which lies a short distance off the southern coast is famous for large dark cherries and spectacular scenery from an otherwise rocky landscape. Spiky Bridge was built in the 1800s and is another of the attractions you will find when you visit the East Coast area of Tasmania.
