When you look for entertainment, I think we just take for granted what we have on our doorstep if it means that we have to travel to do things then it's not always worth doing.

I have just come back from a Dubai Holiday, I'm wishing now that I booked a lifetime out there it is a fantastic place so much to see and do and believe it or not, it didn't matter that I may off had to drive anywhere to see the things I wanted to see. There are things to do for children, things to do for free, things to do at night and so much more.

Things to do for children - Children are justly celebrated in Arab culture, they have an array of child friendly attractions and many hotels have first class supervised clubs.

There is the wild Wadi Water Park open from 11am to 7pm and during October it opens from 8am.  It has 30 water rides, named rides such as mater blaster and Rushdown rivine.  It's a very safe park with plenty of lifeguards and has restaurant facilities on site.

Dhow Dubai Cruise: A beautiful, romantic cruise in a traditional wooden boat down the Dubai Creek. Along with A fabulous Barbecue Dinner while gently drifting on the waters. Beautiful Experience!

Desert Safari: You cannot visit Dubai without going on Safari in the desert. You will taken in a 4x4 where you will be driven on the dunes. You will then experience some belly dancing, local cuisine and be able to purchase some novelty items not to mention the camel ride too. A great deal of fun and certainly worthwhile.

Buy gold, lots of gold - The Gold Souq is one of the most startling sights in the city, even if you are not interested in buying gold. Just looking at the abundance of gold items on every shop window is simply astonishing, checking out every detail and craftsmanship. Most of the gold is 22 carat quality and quite expensive, although the shopkeepers are prepared to bargain. The items are sold by weight, together with a "making charge" added on top to cover the workmanship. It pays to go shopping armed with the current gold price and a knowledge of the labor charges in order to hone th bargaining process.

Dubai Creek: This saltwater creek was the foundation of Dubai itself and served as a port for trading vessels. One can enjoy the celestial beauty of the sea by setting on a cruise ride for a romantic dinner or even rent a private dhow cruise for an exclusive experience. The creek is still growing and a new project consisting of seven islands with the name- The Lagoons is proposed to be built here, which will include towers with the height of 400 meters. Families crowd the area during weekends where they take their younger ones for picnic by the beach.
